Tadah! Contact Works Again!
admin April 4th, 2010
We finally got the contact form fixed for the web site. I’m so sorry … I kept waiting for the old one to fix itself, and it just wasn’t happening. So, I turfed it and found one that did work!

I hope you enjoy the highs and lows, the dramas and successes of those early days…
Also included are the names of participants in the first four months. Check them out!

Congratulations to Jen (luv2stamp82) for the awesome new outfit for the web site. How’s that for record time?!
Great job to all you early birds! You’ve got your stuff in lights the whole month.

I believe that I’ve figured out a way for everyone to be able to download all the kits on one page with Down Them All, (for Firefox) or another Browser Plugin – I’ll have it ready by the 5th of each month for the previous month. Why am I waiting to the end? Well, because it’s just much easier to do once I know everything has been submitted. More news as I work on it!

Well, I do believe that was a very painless update to a web site.
Retrieval of passwords SHOULD be fixed in this version, please let me know one way or the other.
Here’s a video with a summary of the changes. Some of them will affect admin only, but some of them will be pretty cool for everyone!

Thank you to everyone who has so patiently waited for me to work out the kinks in the site AND in my instructions!
I just finished a new version of the instructions, please give it a workout and let me know how it works! You’ll find it listed under the link to the right, under Site Navigation - How To Use Our Site – one of the links there is How To Upload.

Here’s a brand new step by step uploading tutorial for monthly contributions and tutorials.
I’m submitting this now for testing and comments. I know it’s different than the last site, but this way will have many benefits.
1. You’ll be able to edit your own tutorials and submissions.
2. You’ll be able to provide a description for your kit, just like you’d write in a post.
3. You’ll be able to replace uploads on your own.
4. The site will enforce the 10 meg limit on file size
I’m sure there are some other benefits, but those are the ones off the top of my head. This is the same uploading Stacey has been using to upload tutorials.
Please feel free to test in the June 2008, SNL 39 Category.

P.S. Please respond in comments here with questions, errors, vague instructions and all other possible problems in these instructions about uploading here to the new site.

I decided it would be easier to do a new theme than to find the old bugs
So … it looks different, but should do all the same things – in BOTH Firefox and Internet Explorer. Please let me know how it all works.

Hey there, you are looking good!
I’m going to leave this post here so that people can respond to it with questions or trouble they have using the web site.
If you are already a blogger, it may feel a little more at ease for you. The website is built on WordPress.
Thank you for any random reading, testing … etc, that you are able to do.
Stacey has been adding content in pages, and Christina (mommabyrd) is populating our Links. We will do our best to answer your questions. Understand that all your questions right now will help us write the help files or make the changes that will help others use the site later.
So you’re really important to us!
Test away!

Hi everyone!
While there is some information missing in it (notably how to upload and download), we’re taking comments now in this posting about suggestions you have to make the New Member’s Guide better for newcomers to SNL (linked in the right hand menu under “Site Navigation”).
When we have finished the coding for the site for the other parts, we’ll update the Guide, too. Promise!
